This wonderful bird has nested here for at least 2 years. I made it my mission to catch her in this year after seeing her empty nest last spring. The nest is magnificent.

Most of the swans living on Britain's waterways belong to the Crown, a status enjoyed by these graceful white birds since the 12th Century. Swans are regal and remind us of the days of English dignity and calm restraint. Yet they are strong, confident and assertive when protecting their young. The swan would be enjoyed as part of a Yuletide feast, but only by the King/Queen or by permission of said monarch!
